Event takes place at the Rio Velodrome with free admission and LIVE broadcast
From March 20th to 24th, the Rio Velodrome, a legacy of Rio 2016, hosts for the second time the Para-Cycling Track World Championship. The first was in 2018 when the Brazilian track was the stage for world record breaks and established itself as one of the fastest on the planet. Starting this Wednesday, the stars of the sport return to the Velodrome in pursuit of medals from the most important competition on the calendar and the last points needed to stamp their passport to the 2024 Paralympic Games.
The Velodrome is located in the Olympic Park, in Barra da Tijuca, west zone of the city (Avenida Embaixador Abelardo Bueno, 3,401). It is possible to arrive by car, bus, or BRT (the Parque Olímpico station is the closest, but it is also possible to walk from the Rio 2 station). The races take place from 9 am to 7:30 pm from Wednesday to Friday and from 9 am to 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.
It is also possible to follow the World Championship on TV or the internet. The LMC+ pay-TV channel (channel 548 on Claro TV and 612 on Vivo TV) broadcasts the races from 4:30 pm to 8 pm on the 20th, from 3:30 pm to 7 pm on the 21st, from 3 pm to 6:30 pm on the 22nd, from 5:30 pm to 9 pm on the 23rd, and from 4:30 pm to 8 pm on the 24th.
